GAPRC was started since we felt there was a need; for a commitment to protecting Kuwait rich natural heritage for birds including the prevention of habitat degradation and disturbance, to protect birds that are mistreated due to the profitable bird trade and offer homes for birds where people emigrating, handicapped, old, plucked, abandoned and problem birds.
GAPRC is a non-government, non-profit organization, whose mission is to protect, conserve and promote the survival of birds, both in their habitats and in captivity. It is the only Kuwait based group dedicated solely to overcoming the greatest threats facing birds in the Gulf. A growing human population, consuming greater resources, is critically impacting bird populations through habitat destruction, direct mortality from such harmful practices as the unwise use of pesticides and pollutants. We believe at GAPRC that adequate resources exist to overcome these threats.
